The end of our 2013 quilt year is here.  I believe we had a very good year with tons of fun, learned lots and made many beautiful quilts for charity.  With that said, we ended the year with a great luncheon … even if the place that was reserved for us to attend, overbooked the room.  I think we did very good job on recovering and had a fun time anyways at our faithful room at the Syracuse Community Center.  Belinda did a great job decorating and Yvonne was awesome on getting food together for us all.  And it was a great test of my old military skills on notifying everyone of the change of place.  We ALL came together and had a GREAT time!!! Lastly … I have enjoyed maintaining the blog this year.  I think many people have an enjoyed it.  I am so happy for that.  But it is time I turn over the reins to Becky, and I think she is going to have as much fun with it as I did.  As for the future … I will try my best to be good president but that will be easy because I have such superior memb

EXCITED!!!  That is what I am!!!  My husband, daughter and I braved the snow storm today (Saturday, closing day of the festival) because we just had to make it to the Festival of Trees.  We weren't able to make it during the week, so snow storm or not … we were getting to the festival.  I am SO glad we did.  I wanted to see all the trees but I was on a mission, though.  I wanted to see if our quilt was lucky enough to be one of the ones displayed.  I know the festival receives so many quilts, meaning not all get to be displayed.  Ours did!!! And it sold for $675.00!!!  How wonderful.  I can't wait to show everyone the fabric I have bought to make our quilt for the festival next year.  I hope that next year's quilt turns out just as beautiful as this one!  Great job, ladies!!  Anyways, here it is … our quilt in the festival.
I was going over some of my notes and forgot to add to my last post to the blog a couple of tidbits I found interesting about our group.  I am sure these tidbits have been mentioned before during a past meeting but it is finally registering in my brain (growing old and having a memory is not always happening LOL).  Anyways while we were voting in our new officers, it was brought up how long we have been a quilt guild and who was the first president.  So congratulations to us all for being a guild for 11 years. And for Olivia being the very first president back then.  Very interesting stuff.  Ok … hope to see everyone at December's meeting/luncheon.

WOW!!!  What a fun time our quilt group had together!!!  The first thing we got to do, was welcome a new member.  She is moving here from Wyoming.  Welcome Barbara!!!! Our President, Belinda, then informed us of the results of the basket we donated to Utah Quilt Fest.  Our basket went for $82!  Yippee!!! The meeting moved on to the next order of business … electing next year's officers.  Everyone was just so great about stepping up to fill positions.  Here is how it went (no last names are mentioned, due to all member requesting only first names on the blog): President: Nancy Vice-President: Jeanette Treasurer/Secretary: Becky Congratulations to them all.  Thanks a bunch for volunteering.  It is greatly appreciated by this fun group of quilters!!  There were tidbits of discussions about the future … continue to support Syracuse Police Department, making of a tote bag, contribute any other quilts to QOV, etc. Then … our out going President, Belinda, decided to finish her
