Families are like quilts - stitched together one piece at a time

February's meeting was just outstanding, great attendance, new members, lots of information and sharing.  Just like the title above our little family is growing in wonderful ways.

Sandra, our Utah Quilt Guild Rep shares lots of news.
Sandra, area representative of the Utah Quilt Guild shared lots of great information about what's going on in the state with monthly quilting sessions at LDS Hospital in SLC, quilt shows around the state and a Challenge Quilt involving a green fabric (you can buy your piece from Sandra) and including a leaf and embellishment.  You can check out all the information at the Utah Quilt Guild website

Don't forget National Quilt Day at Fairfield Village (formerly Legacy Village) on Fairfield in Layton on March 20-21, 2015.  There will be trunk shows, quilts to view, basket auctions, mini quilts and so much more.  Be sure to come out and enjoy this show and support our local guilds.

We welcomed some visitors to our guild
Marianne joined our guild this month

Joyce has been missing from our group came back for a visit today

Kim not only visited our guild meeting but shared this lovely
collage quilt and joined right up.   Welcome Kim!

Suzanne shared some lovely quilt sayings with us which will become a regular part of our meetings.

  • When I give to you what I make with my hands, I share with my heart
  • My eyes were strong, my hands were true, and filled with love made this for you.
  • A family stitched together with love seldom unravels
  • Quilting is my passion but chocolate is a close second

Cathy and Shelley shared some wonderful news, these beautiful grandmas are expecting twins from their daughter and son. Sharing family and quilting, what a wonderful friendship.  As our leading quote says, piecing families together.

  •  Marsha shared a great story about a lady that when she passed away had so much fabric in her stash that the family made $17,000 selling it at about half the price it sold for originally.
  • Hmmm, think I better finish some projects before I buy any more fabric

  • Jeannette demonstrated a really cute 3-D pinwheel block that we will be demonstrating at National Quilt Day
