Syracuse Quilters November 18, 2014

With Veteran's Day falling on our usual meeting day, the Guild met a week later this month which gave every one a little more time to finish up some projects.  Lots of fun show and tell this month along with a swap meet and elections.

Nancy , our President got the meeting rolling

and President Elect Jeannette gave a report on next year's National Quilt Day.  Hard to believe but planning for this fun event  gets rolling now.  It will be held on March 20 and 21, 2015, at the Legacy Village Retirement Center.  We need to start thinking about volunteers to help out, items for our booth and a fun demo to share.  Belinda and Nancy will be handling advertising for the event.

Jeannette reports on National Quilt Day

Always having fun at Guild Meeting, laughs, friends and quilts, doesn't get much better than that.

Birthday Celebrations

Each month, we ask our birthday ladies to share a favorite quilt they have made.  This month we celebrated Shelley, Barbara and Lynda.

Sorry Shelley, you are too fast.  This is Shelley's lovely Waterfall quilt,  We need her to bring it back so we can get a better picture, or a new photographer.

Shelley picks out her Snap Bag from the  treasure box.

Barbara had a lot to share this month, such a pretty sampler; and a lovely mini-quilt

Barbara's pretty nine-patch set on point.

Lynda didn't think she'd like these civil war prints until she used them in this beautiful quilt.
Awesome colors Lynda, even if it is out of
your comfort zone.  It is so pretty.

Belinda's Row by Row and look at those adorable hexies in the border.
Belinda gave a demo on making these cute microwave bowl holders.  A great idea for handling those hot bowls.

Swap Meet

Members brought items they no longer wanted in the  hopes they would find a new home with someone else.  We drew numbers and then adopted a new treasure for our own stash.
Barbara got first choice.

Elections

Jeannette was confirmed as President Elect for this coming year and Becky was confirmed as Secretary/Treasurer.  We still need a Vice President who would serve as President Elect for 2016.  Please think about volunteering to serve.

Christmas Meeting

Don't forget that next month's meeting will be held at Marie Callendar's on December 9, at 1:00 with a gift exchange and lots of fun.
