Hi Ladies, it is me, Nancy.  As most of you know, Becky was not able to make our meeting this month, so I gladly filled in for her, which turned out to be an interesting task for me.  You see I am not fond of taking pictures with my digital camera because you can't snap pictures fast enough, so decided to use the camera on my new phone that I got in the month of May.  I learned after our meeting, that the camera on my new phone has a new feature called, "Live".  Bottom line, not all the pictures I took turned out the greatest (and they took forever to upload to my computer), so my apologies.  (By the way, I have since turned off the "Live" feature.)  Also I am a bit slow with taking notes AND pictures at the same time, which means I might not have all the information correct in this blog.  Lastly, I think one of the hardest parts that I think Becky has to do with writing this blog, is deciding which pictures to input.  I took probably 75 pictures or more.  Not all of them can be in the blog or the blog would go on forever.  That brings me to say, that I express our deepest appreciation for how much Becky does as our Secretary/Treasurer when it comes to recording our meetings.  My hat is off to you on what a wonderful job you do

Upcoming Utah Fest Class Items
Come this September, it will be time again for the annual Utah Quilt Fest.  Our area rep, Sandra, brought to our meeting a few of the items that are actually what can be made in a class during the fest.  Many of our members really enjoyed being able to see first hand what could be made in several different classes.  So go to http://www.utahquiltguild.org and sign up for a class or two!! Also there is LOTS more info about Quilt Fest on the website, like how to win a sewing machine by making a decorated Christmas stocking!!!

Sandra also wanted to make sure that everyone knew that the Utah Quilt Guild has changed servers for the newsletter.  Your password to log-in will not work but the new one is "buyfabric".  In the near future it should be set up so you can change it to a password of your own.

A fun seat pillow

Another fun pillow

Yup ... I might have to sign up for this class

I love the holes in the corner that
compliment the quilt pattern.  How neat!

Birthday Girls
Our dear sweet Maggie.  This was her
last meeting.  She is now off to live in
St. George.  We wish you all the best and
will miss you a lot.
Rosanne reading her question, which was
"if you could give one piece of advice".
She answered that she doesn't like to make
things perfect.  If it is too big, she cuts it off.
Too small, she adds on.  I like that advice!!

Pam reading her question of what is her
favorite block.  She mentioned she did like
a block she made once that had a perfect
 circle with cherries appliquéd on.

Door Prizes
Our three lucky door prize winners this month
were Shelley, Suzanne, and Susan.  Yippee!!

Past and Future Block Items
Jeanette and Terri showing last month's "Posy" block several
members contributed, and Shelley was the lucky winner of them.

Shelly showing next month's block individuals
can make and bring in to be won
by some lucky person.

QOV Misc Information

Utah's new QOV representative contacted
Suzanne about some quilts that were
donated at HMQS that could not be used due
to several QOV requirements.  So Suzanne
brought them to our meeting for us to decide
what to do with them.  This one was decided
to be given to Hospice, which is
Utah Quilt Guild charity of this year.
