Trip to Brigham City International Quilt Show
We were a small but happy group that traveled to Brigham City to take in all the quilts at the International Quilt Show.  So many different techniques and subject matter expressed through quilting.

We met at the community center to drive up and Marilyn checked in with us and said they really need volunteers to help with the quilt show during quilt fest.  If you can sign up, please consider helping out.

July 11, 2019 A Zinger of a Day

Suzanne opened the meeting with a few announcements and sent around a list for luncheon signups at Quilt Fest.  Lots of classes still available if you haven't signed up.

Zinger Day Suzanne brought all the blocks using the orange Zinger fabric.  We decided to donate the finished top and Margo said she would put the quilt together.  All the blocks turned out great, will certainly make a nice quilt.
BUM Challenge (aka Butt ugly material) We were given a challenge to make a project out of some "lovely" orange metallic fabric selected by Suzanne's husband.  The Syracuse quilters stepped up to the challenge and made some very pretty projects out of this fabric.  The winner, Mary Beth received a gift certificate to Sew and Save to pick out some "pretty" fabric

Sew and Tell

Nancy finished up the meeting with a demonstration of how to make the very cute and useful tissue holders.  I see lots of folks getting these little items as gifts this year.
What a great meetin…

Bingo and Dessert June 2019

Bingo and Dessert Does it get any better than that?  Desserts galore, so yummy.  I think everyone got a little bit of a sugar high before the end of the day.  There were plenty of great prizes for our annual bingo game.

We did take care of a little business including the following announcements.   Someone requested to advertise on our Facebook page or our blog and Suzanne reiterated that we do not take any advertising. Registration for Quilt Fest opens at 6 p.m. on June 21.  Safe Harbor cancelled their boutique this year and will not be selling donated quiltsMargo read a thank you note from the Holiday Quilt group for the "Safe Haven" Thimbleberry quilt we donated.Syracuse Museum has asked to borrow quilts to display in the museum.  (more info to follow)Utah Quilt Guild is getting rid of the Library and volunteers can meet at the This is the Place Quilt Museum on September 9 at 1:00 p.m. to go through the material.Utah Quilt Guild is seeking an editor for the Beeline.  Conta…

SQG Sew-In May 2019

Syracuse Quilters Spend the day at Jewel's Fabric Stash On a beautiful May 14, the SQG got together in Bountiful for a day of sewing, shopping and gabbing at Jewel's Fabric Stash

Just some of the fun quilts hanging at Jewel's.

We started off the day with everyone working on their own projects along with a lot of conversation

After lunch we took a time out from sewing to share our three fat quarter table runners.  What a fun project where we provided three fat quarters to another quilter in the group to make a table runner providing extra fabric and a good dose of creativity.

Sew and Tell We had some fun quilts to share as well.
