July 2017 Meeting

Hey Quilters!

We had a great meeting this month.  It was our Summer Picnic & Bingo Bash.  We had lots of good food, good prizes, and beautiful Sew & Tells!

To start with,Sandra had only one announcement for us from the Utah Quilt Guild.  She reminded us to be working on our mini-quilts for Quilt Fest.  They will be accepted anytime up until the first morning of Quilt Fest.  Be sure they have a label on them with your name, the name of the pattern and the designer of the pattern.

Also, if you'd like to enter a quilt into the Davis County Fair this year, you'll need to drop off your quilt at the fairgrounds on August 12 between 10 am - 2 pm, and then plan on picking it up on the 21st.

Finally, next month on August 8th we are taking a Field Trip!  We will be visiting the Brigham City Museum and enjoying the quilt show there.  We will meet at 11:30 am at Maddox's for some lunch first, then we'll go over and enjoy the show.  Please RSVP to this email to let us know if you are planning to attend.  Also let us know if you'd like to carpool - we can pick a convenient meeting place and drive over together.

We started off with a delicious potluck lunch - everyone brought tasty dishes that filled us up!

Next, we moved on to Bingo - or we called it QUILT!  There were lots of great prizes and we all got to take home some really nice items others were done using.  We all came away winners!

Our prize table was overflowing!

When we got all done with our fabulous game and food, we had Sew and Tell.  As usual, y'all brought some really great projects to share!

Sandra brought these 3 quilts, all made by Emily Bailey, to show some more of the classes that will be taught at quilt fest.  These classes all still have some spaces available if you're looking for some fun ones to take.

Becky brought these two quilts - the top on is a comfort quilt she recently finished, and the bottom one she showed us all the label - how cute it is!

A new guild member, Aimee, brought this stunner that she put together to use as a picnic blanket.  It has an outdoor fabric on the back and she quilted it herself.  Great job!

Yvonne brought in this amazing quilt she worked on while her husband was undergoing chemo.  She used crayons to create the color on the front of the quilt - it's fabulous!!!

Belinda finished this cheery, bright quilt - love the colors!

Marilyn brought in these two cute blocks she has finished for her daughter Angela's quilt, who is sitting next to her in the photo.  We can't wait to see the whole quilt when it's finished!

We can't wait to see you all next month.  Be sure to RSVP if you will be able to make our field trip.  Happy Quilting!!!!
