Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild Meeting October 14, 2025
Announcements
Our next Sew-in October 23rd, 9am-5pm at the North Davis Senior Center,
in Clearfield. Bring your machine, extension cord, lunch, and $2.00
Next month there will be a Sew-in at the Syracuse Community Center
on Monday, November 10th, 10am-3pm.
This will take place of our regular 2nd Tuesday Meeting.
We will also be electing new officers for next year.
As an incentive to attend the meeting the above quilt will be drawn for.
It was partially pieced by Margo and Kathy finished piecing it.
Pam will quilt it.
The finished Quilt of Valor will be going to Maria's 90 year old
father who served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Turn in the raw edge flower blocks by next month.
December Christmas Party
There will be a drawing for the flower blocks at
our Christmas Party on the 2nd Tuesday in December.
It will be held at Chris' Cafe in Clearfield.
Meet at noon and bring 1 yard of fabric for the gift exchange.
It can be 1 yard, 2 half yards, or 4 fat quarters.
Please turn in all Comfort quilts by December luncheon.
The place we will be donating them to has 100 residents.
So far we have 30 quilts.
The quilts can be twin, throw, wheel chair, or lap quilt sizes.
The quilts will be going to The Abington Senior Living in Layton.
If you would like to order some Superior Threads at half price
let Pam know by this weekend.

Thanks Suzanne for keeping us updated on what has been happening
in the Utah Quilt Guild.
Quilt Fest
At Quilt Fest this year our basket sold for $140.
Thanks to Marie and others who participated.
Next year Quilt Fest will be held October 6th - 10th
At the Davis county Conference Center in Layton.
The Theme is "Quilting America Red, White, and Blue."
Guest National Teachers will be Collage Quilter Emily Taylor,
Quilt Historian and Appraiser, Sandra Starley,
and Guest Hand Quilter, Jerry Dunbar
There will be an Opportunity Quilt available
made by Ruth Davis.

Sew and Tell
Tammy showed her pretty fancy golf car seat cover.
This is Debbie's fun Halloween wall quilt.
Suzanne showed us her 1000 piece potato chip quilt
she made for Quilt Fest. It was a favorite with organized
colorways.
Larraine made this pretty Drunkard's Path using French General fabrics.
This quilt she is donating to our Comfort Quilts.
She also made this cute little Halloween wall hanging.
Maribeth's family calls her Halloween quilt Frankie.
Maribeth finished four comfort quilts with blocks made by Stormy.
Maribeth's husband quilted them.
This is Maribeth's purse project made at Quilt Fest.
She has lots of completed blocks.
We hope she does a Demo to show the method.
Connie quilted this soft quilt and is donating it to the Comfort Quilts.
This 1000 pieced Quilt Fest quilt was made by Connie.
Paula won this pretty Daffodil quilt at Quilt Fest.
Sue made this "Spooky" pillow and added embroidery.
Ruth's amazing star quilt has 2000 triangles.
Angy showed her pretty Kimberbell Christmas quilt that has lights
that poke thru from the back.

Pretty butterfly coasters and a hedge hog made by Mardell.

Susan finished this quilt she started a long time ago.
Janet's 5th grade granddaughter sewed this Elf on a Shelf Quilt.
Janet won a 2nd place ribbon for this challenge quilt.
The cabin shown was her great grandfather's cabin.
The Ghost has Chenille-It around it.
Anita quilted this pretty quilt that Nancy gave her. It has 27 shades of color.
Her Courthouse Steps quilt she intends to keep for herself.
Jennifer quilted it.
Kathy plans to add Chenille-It to this cute Halloween Panel quilt.
Jeanette brought a couple of Halloween quilts she made.
Pam learned how to make this pretty rope bowl at Quilt Fest.
Pam took a trip to see the fall leaves with her grandsons and
then came home and made this quilt to remember how beautiful the leaves were.
She used the leftover scraps on the back.
Pam made his amazing wool applique quilt to hang up for Halloween.
