Hello Quilters! We had another great meeting this month...lots of sharing and learning from each other!   The meeting started off with Linda generously accepting the position of Comfort Quilts Coordinator .  She will be responsible for getting all the comfort quilts we make this year to either the Syracuse Police Department or Safe Harbor (our charities).  Thanks Linda! Next we had announcements from Sandra about Utah Quilt Guild happenings.  Here's what's going on: 1.  All quilts for the Utah Quilt Fest this year must be in red and white.  If you have any questions about this, please consult the latest issue of the Beeline from the UQG or go online to  http://www.utahquiltguild.org/  to find more information.   2.  There will be a final show this year at the Quilt Show Barn, located at 2650 E Walker Lane (5450 S) in SLC on Saturday, August 26.   3.  You can use your Smith's card to donate to the UQG!  Just go...

February 2017 SQG Meeting

Hello Fellow Quilters! Our February meeting had a great turnout.  We had a fun sew-in, working on charity quilts to start out the day.  It was a fun way to send a little 💗 out to the world on Valentine's Day.   We also decided as a guild that our charity for this year will be the Syracuse Police Department - they need child size quilts, and Safe Harbor, which can use all larger size quilts that we make.   Our meeting started with Sandra John from the Utah Quilt Guild filling us in on some upcoming events: 1.  Just a reminder that it's time to renew your membership with the Utah Quilt Guild.   Click here  to go the website and renew your membership.   2.  There will be a quilt show at the Bountiful Art Center, Feb 24 - Mar 31.   3.  The Star Valley Quilt Trail is hosting an event in conjunction with a total solar eclipse on August 21.   Click here  to visit their website for more info.   4.  The...

Hello Fellow Quilters! Welcome to another year of great times at the Syracuse Quilt Guild .   We started off our first meeting of the year with Pam White, our new president, introducing her goals for this year.  They are: 1.   Get to know everyone !  Pam invites us all to wear a name tag to future meetings.  If you have one from a previous meeting, Quilt Fest, or anything else, feel free to wear it to our next meeting.  2.   Promote Quilting .  Pam and her board have lots of fun speakers, events, and even a field trip planned for 2017.   3.   Have fun!  4.   Make charity quilts.   5.   See a lot of beautiful quilts! So be sure to bring anything you have finished for Sew & Tell every time month.   Next, Pam showed us how to make perfect circles .  We were all wowed by how simple her technique is, and how perfect those circles really are.   She also went over quilt labels...
