February 2017 SQG Meeting
Hello Fellow Quilters!
Our February meeting had a great turnout. We had a fun sew-in, working on charity quilts to start out the day. It was a fun way to send a little 💗 out to the world on Valentine's Day. We also decided as a guild that our charity for this year will be the Syracuse Police Department - they need child size quilts, and Safe Harbor, which can use all larger size quilts that we make.
Our meeting started with Sandra John from the Utah Quilt Guild filling us in on some upcoming events:
1. Just a reminder that it's time to renew your membership with the Utah Quilt Guild. Click here to go the website and renew your membership.
2. There will be a quilt show at the Bountiful Art Center, Feb 24 - Mar 31.

For our door prizes, Belinda made some sewing machine foot pedal aniti-slip pads (not sure if I got that name right?!?)
Margo started us out with our Traveling Box quilts. If you do still want to participate, please let us know.
For Sew and Tell, we had some really great projects:
Sandra finished this round robin quilt. What a beauty!
Barbara made this great red, white & blue quilt for her grandson. We all gave her some advice on which fabric to use for her border.
Susan made this cute quilt using a really great ruler. She promised to bring it to our next meeting so we can all check it out.
Becky got to use her new quilting machine on this fabulous sampler.
And she also finished this gorgeous quilt
Margo finished another fun quilt to be donated to the Syracuse PD
And this one is also headed there
Jeanette finished this top, which was pieced by Stormy also, which will go to Safe Harbor when it's finished
And this second quilt from Stormy was finished by Margo
Jeanette made this lovely Valentine's themed quilt
And Belinda finally finished this one - I can't remember how many years it's been in progress, but it's been a long time!
And she also completed these adorable minis. She's all set for our mini swap in June!
Belinda also completed these two quilts - the second is made from all of the left over triangles from trimming the larger quilt.
And she completed this fabulous table runner made from blocks she started with a project from Nancy.
Well that's all that happened...we look forward to seeing you all next month, on March 15 at 1 pm!
