Sew and Tell

Ruth showed her cute patriotic jacket.

Jennifer's long-arm machine is not working so she basted this beautiful quilt using
a Kim Diehl pattern.  She is hand quilting it using a large wooden hoop.

Jeanette showed her table runner made a few years ago.

She made the baby quilt and it is off to her great-grandson.

This pretty quilt with wool applique was made by Susan.

Susan and Sheila showed their amazing matching quilts.
(I didn't get a photo of them.  If someone has a photo please send it to my email).

A beautiful finish of a donated quilt.

10" squares quilted with butterfly quilting.   She won this quilt kit last month.

Becky  made this red white and blue 3-D pinwheel quilt
and the cute Hello quilt with little houses.

Becky shared her scrappy foundation strip pieced quilt with stars in the intersections.

Pam brought two beautiful large quilts to show.

Pam also has some fun red, white and blue wall quilts.
One was a panel quilt.  Can you guess which one?

Amy made this tumbler flag quilt and appliqued the United States quilt.

Maribeth made this Disappearing Nine Patch quilt for her niece in
memory of her mom.  It is hand quilted.
Marybeth's heart flag.

Susan started out making a large quilt but it ended up a runner.

Kathy's lucky five grandchildren have all received a graduation quilt.
This is the latest made from jeans and sewn on a featherweight sewing machine.
Jennifer quilted it.

Sewing Gadgets

Mardell showed a Half Square Triangle Block Lock Ruler.
It comes in 3 sizes.

Susan told us about a tool that makes bias binding and can be used
on stained glass quilts.
She uses clamps from Harbor Freight.

Jennifer showed her 3 in one needle puller, thread cutter and thimble
made by Bohin.  She also showed her knitting pin bobbin holder,
her Ben Franklin planner that holds all her needles and scissors,
and a Sewline thin line chalk pen marker.

Maribeth uses a wooden seam pressing stick.

Susan showed a Famore' rotary cutter that
uses ball bearings so there is no drag.  Missouri Star has a similar one.

Janet uses Thimble-It that sticks to her finger in place of a metal thimble.

Sheila brought a rubber spatula that she uses to hold down applique pieces.

Kathy brought a thread cutter that she uses to cut threads when chain piecing.
She also brought two fabric covered pen and notions holders.

Pam showed her thread cutter, fuller, thread holder spool wraps, Purple Thang,
and a Creative Grids Flying Geese Ruler.

So many great sewing Gadgets to  make our quilting easier!
Thanks everyone for a great meeting.

See you next month.
Jeanette
