Regular Tuesday Mtg

Fall is in the air and what a wonderful meeting we had. Sorry we did not get anything loaded last month but going to make up for it now. You may click on image to enlarge.
Suzanne shared with us all the upcoming event of Utah Quilt Guild Annual Meeting at Quilt Fest. We are postponing our ideas for doing any future quilts for Syracuse until next year. 3 of us are doing the Utah quilt guilds mystery quilt. As well as all the fabric that can still be used for donation quilts for charity. As will as passing out instructions on our next block for our sampler. Our Syracuse Heritage quilt took best in division at the Davis county fair. (You may view below in previous blog entries.)
Show and tell - I must say WONDERFUL job, (well done) Suzanne started us off with what she received for the Utah state round robin blocks. She had assorted sizes of star blocks.
Stormy donated Orphan blocks, shoing us her green dyed fabrics and her Christmas quilt.
Tori showed off her blouse she made from fabric donated last month.
Carol showed off her grandsons quilt
Kathy W showed off her last month sampler block.
Susan B this little delight. ( WELCOME BACK GIRLFRIEND)
Joyce shared with us her tricks of the trade. Wonderfully done.
Kathy M. Share with us her wonderful little brown bear story book quilt for her grandson.Maggie shared a touching story of her and husbands love of Japan. Turning 20 quilt in Oriantal fabrics.
Ofcouse I showed a lot of QOV stuff. Here is the QOV Block I made up have pattern here as well as my portion of the Mystery quilt.

Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild November 14, 2023

 November 14, 2023   President Maribeth welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced guests and new members. It was reported that the basket donated by the Syracuse Guild to the silent auction at Quiltfest brought in $150.   Amazing and thank you to Nancy who put the basket together. Door prizes were awarded and birthdays recognized.   The group voted to hold our Christmas Luncheon on December 12 at Chris’ Café in Clearfield.   More information will be shared prior to the luncheon.      State Quilt Guild Announcements:   Suzanne, our Area Representative gave an update on Quilltfest, including the fact that Quilltfest has been moved up to August 20-24 due to scheduling issues in October.   More details are available online at Utah Quilt Guild.org.   The guilds are being asked to perhaps donate luncheon table prizes for next year.   Also reminded that the Auction baskets must include only new materials.   They also need lots of volunteers to pull off a successful fest.  Syracuse Utah Quilters December 24 The Syracuse Utah Quilters gathered at Chris' Cafe in Clearfield for our annual Christmas lunch and get together.  It was a great time with good food, good friends and fun gifts for all.  A drawing was held for the guild quilt made earlier this year and the lucky winner was Lorraine.   Happy New Year 2023 Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild quilters.   Here are some photos from our Christmas Luncheon  and January Meeting . Our Christmas Celebration at Chris' Café in Clearfield.   Great Food.  Great Friends .   January 2022 Meeting Welcome Maribeth as our new Guild President We will be meeting on February 21st rather than Feb 14th        to have a “Quilt Block Painting Class.”          We will be doing a 12 inch block and the instructor will be sending out           Instructions once she gets a class list.  The guild is paying the      class fee for each student and we will pay $30 for materials.  Suzanne, our Area Rep, gave the State Guild Report highlighting: Remote Quilt Fest in April Rusty Barn Quilt Show – May 18-20.  The Utah Quilt Guild is asking interested guilds to provide quilts to hang at the show, for viewing only.  Membership for the guild is $20 due March 31.
