November 14, 2023 President Maribeth welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced guests and new members. It was reported that the basket donated by the Syracuse Guild to the silent auction at Quiltfest brought in $150. Amazing and thank you to Nancy who put the basket together. Door prizes were awarded and birthdays recognized. The group voted to hold our Christmas Luncheon on December 12 at Chris’ Café in Clearfield. More information will be shared prior to the luncheon. State Quilt Guild Announcements: Suzanne, our Area Representative gave an update on Quilltfest, including the fact that Quilltfest has been moved up to August 20-24 due to scheduling issues in October. More details are available online at Utah Quilt Guild.org. The guilds are being asked to perhaps donate luncheon table prizes for next year. Syracuse Utah Quilters December 24 The Syracuse Utah Quilters gathered at Chris' Cafe in Clearfield for our annual Christmas lunch and get together. It was a great time with good food, good friends and fun gifts for all. A drawing was held for the guild quilt made earlier this year and the lucky winner was Lorraine. January 2022 Meeting Welcome Maribeth as our new Guild President We will be meeting on February 21st rather than Feb 14th to have a “Quilt Block Painting Class.” We will be doing a 12 inch block and the instructor will be sending out Instructions once she gets a class list. The guild is paying the class fee for each student and we will pay $30 for materials. Suzanne, our Area Rep, gave the State Guild Report highlighting: Remote Quilt Fest in April Rusty Barn Quilt Show – May 18-20. The Utah Quilt Guild is asking interested guilds to provide quilts to hang at the show, for viewing only. Membership for the guild is $20 due March 31.
