Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild Meeting
January 13, 2026
Ami, our new Guild President, introduced herself and showed a quilt from
a quilt block exchange she made years ago when she previously attended
our guild. She introduced the officers for the new year.
We had our Fat Quarter drawing and birthday gifts given for this month
and the past couple of months.
We have 35 members in our Guild.
Announcements
January 22nd is the next Sew-in at the North Davis Senior Center
in Clearfield. The cost is $2 per person.
These Sew-ins occur on the 4th Thursday of the month from 9-5.
It was announced that they also serve seniors lunch for a $2-$3 donation.
Guild Dues are $15. Give them to Becky.

Ruth is looking for zippers for a project she is working on.
Our new Area Representative from the Utah Quilt Guild is Caroline.
She passed on information to us from the Utah Quilt Guild.
The are looking for a property chair for the quilt display stands.
The year 2027 will be the 50 year Golden Anniversary for the Utah Quilt Guild.
There is a gold fat quarter available to be used to make Mini Quilts
that will tour the state.
They are looking for ideas to use to celebrate the Anniversary.
Some suggested were to have a Quilt Guild Trunk show exchange
between two guilds. Have each guild make a quilt to display at Quilt Fest 2027,
and to put on the play "The Quilters."
This year's 2026 Quilt Fest Theme is Quilting America Red White and Blue.
It will include quilted, clothing and bags.
If anyone would like to teach or lecture at Quilt Fest
the cut off to apply is February 5th.

Because of the growing size of our guild our December meeting at
a Restaurant needs a new place to go to. Hug Hes, Golden Corral, other?
Sew and Tell
Lori showed us a couple of her heart quilts.
Kathy shared a couple of wool quilts and a small wall hangingshe made many years ago.
Kathy finished this Cathedral Windows denim quilt started by her Bishop's mother.
Jeanette showed this machine appliqued, hand quilted,
Sunbonnet Sue Calendar Quilt made by her mother.
This wedding quilt was made by members from our guild and given
to Jeanette for her wedding held on Valentine's Day.
Pam showed this amazing wool quilt that was a Block of the Month.
It won 2nd Place at Quilt Fest.
She is starting a new wool quilt Block of the Month with this January block.
This gal new to our guild showed this bag she made with embroidery and button flowers.
She makes them and gives them to those who have cancer.
She includes coloring sheets and colored pencils in the bags.
Ruth has made vests or jackets for all the holidays.
This one has a woven front and photos on the back.
Ruth made this to take on a cruise to Alaska.
It has fabric that looks like the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights.
Ruth showed her beautiful Snowflake quilt. she cut out the snowflakes
and appliqued them. She included the names of her children and grandchildren.
Marlene made this cute tree vest.
Becky showed this cheerful quilt "Sunny Days" that she finished from Quilt Fest.
Teri made these scrappy quilts that she says her husband wants her to keep.
Maribeth's husband made her these sewing machine book ends.
Pauline did embroidery on the front of her denim jacket.
Ami's Buggy Barn "One Sister" heart quilt she sewed chenille on it.
