Well another fun and successful quilt meeting!!  But of course how could it not be fun ... it is about quilting.  And this month was even more exciting because it was our halfway mark of the year which is when we have our annual potluck luncheon.  It was a month to reflect on how much we have done so far this year and to look forward to the future.  Plus eat some great food!  So scroll down and enjoy some pictures of our latest meeting.

The lovely table set up with prizes to be used for
our Bingo game.

And another lovely table set up ... the FOOD!!

Everyone getting ready to start our meeting/luncheon.

Our first Show and Tell of the day was by Diane.
Showing the gift quilt that was given to her by
a judge of last year's show, Elizabeth Spannring, at HQMS.

Diane told us that she has always wanted to make
a Crumb Quilt,so here is her mission accomplished quilt.

Diane took several classes this year at HQMS, and
one was learning some free hand quilting.
She is showing us some of them she learned.

Another example of Diane's free hand quilting from class.

One of two quilt squares Diane has made for the
10th Anniversary of Quilts of Valor conference in July
(my picture of the one she made for California
 didn't come out very good)

One of our birthday girls for the month, Rose,
showed us the beautiful Sunbonnet Sue quilt
she acquired for only $8!!!!   You read
right $8! Oh there were TONS of "Wows"
and "how awesome" were expressed by all.

What a beautiful quilt.  What a find, Rose!

Kathy shows us her wonderful journal/picture
book of the quilts she has made.

Stormy sharing with us the story of how her parents just
didn't see her ever quilting in her life.  But she
 pursued it anyways!!  Good job!!!

Another fine quilt Stormy showed us that might never had
been made if she hadn't continued her dream of quilting.

All the quilt blocks made by the group, ready
for voting for the top 3 best blocks.  The blocks
will be made into hopefully two quilts.  One
to be donated to "Festival of Trees" and another
for  a winner at our Christmas luncheon.
Oh I hope I win!!!

Another view in the opposite direction of the
blocks ready to be viewed and voted upon.
And the winners are ...
1st place was by Susan (held in Stormy's left hand)
2nd and 3rd went to Stormy and Carol

Ok ... it is time to get down to some business ...
Quilt Bingo!

Smile Diane!!!  You are so silly!  But aren't we a
great looking group!!

"What did she call out? Blue polka dot, or green leaf?"
As you can see, my quilt card is the one at the bottom of
the picture ... LOL ... she had already called out 12
fabrics and you see how many dots I had on the card.  Two!!!

Such serious faces ... but such laughter
that I couldn't catch in the picture.

Yeah!!  Our first winner of the day, Kathy!

So many wonderful prizes to pick from.

Yeah ... once the wins started ... we were on a roll.
Had 3 winners on one call.  Whoo Hoo!!

And our games and wonderful luncheon meeting was
coming to a close ... until next month.
