Hello,
It is that time again!!  A new update to our blog.  Time to inform how our wonderful, fun group is doing.  First, though, I will have to apologize if this post to the blog is lacking a bit.  It is due to my lack of attention during our meeting.  It wasn't because I didn't love our meeting.  I was trying my best to concentrate, but unfortunately my mind was somewhere else.  You see my 80 year old mother, who lives in Connecticut, was having surgery the same day/time of our meeting.  God is Good, though.  She is doing ok and didn't have to have as much done as the surgeon thought would need to be done.  Life is good.

So enough of that and on to our news ...

As always, our very successful President
got our meeting under way

First order of business was to have read
to us a thank card from the nursing staff at
Alta View Hospital for the baby quilts we
 made and donated.

Our birthday girl, Kathy, started off our
meeting's Show and Tell portion.

Kathy's sister came visiting and the two of them
spent many hours enjoying each other company
shopping and sewing.  Wow ... I am so envious of her!!

A Halloween runner she made that she
found fun to also have hang out a drawer.
How fun to see the witches legs hanging out!!

Olivia showing us a quilt she won in a raffle!
How spectacular .

Our Quilts of Valor shining star, talking to us about
plans for the future for more quilts to be made.

Becky informed us about a picture of a butterfly her
granddaughter made for her so she decided to make
a small hanging quilt that looked similar to the picture.

Another fabulous quilt shown by Becky

I am trully sorry, but I am at a lose of the
 name of this dear lady,
but isn't her quilt beautiful!

Carol show us a few of her quilts.

Carol showing another of her quilt, which is beautiful!
But then my favorite quilts are ...
 whimsical, Christmas or Halloween.

Susan showing us one of her quilts made from one of her
favorite squares she continues to make.  Can't say
I blame her ... it is a fun looking square!

There were many ooos and ahhhs when our President, Belinda,
showed us the quilt top put together of all the squares our
group made.  This quilt will be donated to the
Festival of Trees.  I sure hope it raises a ton of money.
This quilt is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Then there was our amazing guest for the day ...
Robyn Orchard
She really does specialize in scrappy quilts.
She showed us many of her quilts made from scraps.
As you review the rest of the below pictures, you will see that
she has done some amazing ones, too.  All from scrap material.
She also many suggestions for all of us on how
we can, too, use up extra fabric and turn out wonderful art work.
