WOW!!!  What a fun time our quilt group had together!!!  The first thing we got to do, was welcome a new member.  She is moving here from Wyoming.  Welcome Barbara!!!!

Our President, Belinda, then informed us of the results of the basket we donated to Utah Quilt Fest.  Our basket went for $82!  Yippee!!!

The meeting moved on to the next order of business … electing next year's officers.  Everyone was just so great about stepping up to fill positions.  Here is how it went (no last names are mentioned, due to all member requesting only first names on the blog):

President: Nancy
Vice-President: Jeanette
Treasurer/Secretary: Becky

Congratulations to them all.  Thanks a bunch for volunteering.  It is greatly appreciated by this fun group of quilters!!  There were tidbits of discussions about the future … continue to support Syracuse Police Department, making of a tote bag, contribute any other quilts to QOV, etc.

Then … our out going President, Belinda, decided to finish her year our by helping me, Nancy the incoming President, by getting us to start crafting items to be sold at next year's National Quilt Day (NQD) which will be on March 21st & 22nd.  We were set up at three different tables for three different projects.  I think a few of us were a little nervous at first.  We crafty people can tend to always want to make a perfect product.  Once Belinda got us going, we relaxed and had such a good time.  I know I did.  I heard lots of laughter and enjoyment by many.

During our crafting time, we had our show and tell.  Then we closed the meeting with discussion about our last meeting for the year in December.  We are going to do a gift exchange, but remember it is not to cost more than $10.  Info is:

Date:  Dec 10th
Time:  1 PM
Place: Pizza Pie Cafe, 1803 W 1800 N, Clinton, UT

Lastly I just want to mention that the Festival of Trees is coming up fast (Dec 4-7, at the South Towne Expo Center).  Hope our quilt gets an awesome bid.  I hope it is one they will display, since I know they get so many quilts and can't display them all.

But let's get on to the pictures of our meeting!!!!!

Belinda showing several members
how to do one of our crafts.

Pauline showing us the fabulous quilt she
made from leftover fabric her granddaughter
had.  Her granddaughter makes capes for
children that cystic fibrosis.  Pauline says
this quilt will probably be raffled off
to raise more money for this cause.

Pauline showing the backside of her
quilt for her granddaughter.

Linda showing us her other crafting talent.  Making
miniatures.  They were so magnificent.  How she
EVER made such small items is beyond me.  What a talent!!

Overall view picture of our group crafting and having fun.

This table was the clothes
hanger craft table.

This table was the "Mug Rug" kit making table.

Linda discussing with Susan all the
 little details of her miniature.

I hope you can see some of the detail in this miniature.

Here are the two of them together.  Aren't the awesome?!
In this picture you can see the front side of the house.

And here is the back side of the house.

Our lovely Becky showing Susan her punch needle creation.

This was the third crafting table.  This
table created decorative signs with
some fun sayings on them.

Another fun picture of the clothes hanger crafting table.

Different view of the lovely ladies creating the "Mug Rug"
kit.  We are going to be so ready for NQD.  Thanks
a bunch to you all and Belinda for getting
 it all together for us.
