It was a Jelly Roll Race day at Syracuse Quilt Guild

The Syracuse Quilt Guild met June 10 at the Syracuse Community Center for it's regular monthly meeting.  Guild President, Nancy, started off by telling everyone what a great time we had at our retreat last month and showed off some of the Jelly Roll Quilts that were completed that day.  Many of these lovelies will be finding a good home through Quilts of Valor or a children's charity.

Sorry ladies, forgot to take notes on who made each quilt as I was taking pictures.  They are all so pretty.

Utah Quilt Guild Festival - September 16-20, 2014

The brochures are out with all the information to sign up for classes and to volunteer for different activities.  This year the Festival is being held at the Davis Conference Center, just up the road from us so be sure to attend and help out if you can.  You can find lots of information at Utah Quilt Guild

Birthdays

This month we celebrated Stormy's birthday from May and Rose Ann and Kathy in June.  Happy birthday ladies!
Stormy showed this beautiful quillt she completed.

Rose Ann said she just had a birthday last year so she didn't
think she needed to bring something to share.  She still got her birthday gift.
Silly girl, birthdays have a habit of coming around sooner than you think!

Kathy shared some beautiful hand embroidered quilts she had made

Here's a beautiful one done in pink

Nancy set up her projector and we watched the ever entertaining Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorial on easy Dresden Plate blocks.  The tutorial can be found on You Tube at Dresden Plate Tutorial.  What a fun tutorial, I think I could do that!

Great meeting, next month we will have a pot luck at Diane's house on July 8 at 1:00, see you there!
