Syracuse Quilt Guild June 9, 2015

Thanks to Susan Davis for submitting the above for the blog.  Not sure I could follow these rules; housework before sewing????

Thanks to Nancy Marple for taking pictures and supplying me with a few notes for the blog as I was traveling this month.  Wish I could have been there because it looks like it was a lot of fun.

Sandra, our Utah Quilt Guild Rep, caught us up on all the doings of the state guild and had some news for us.  She reminded everyone to sign up for Quilt Fest coming September 15-19 at the Layton Conference Center.  The catalog looks like there are lots of fun classes and they still need volunteers.

They have received a lot of baby or layette size quilts for the Domestic Abuse Shelters but are still in need of more twin size quilts.

Prize Winners every meeting

This month's door prizes went to Joyce, Mardell and Barbara

Block of the Month

Nancy shows off this month's block of the month pattern and also brought an additional pattern so we will do two blocks this month so we can get going on our quilts.

Row by Row Experience

Suzanne reported told us that many of the quilt shops around the country are participating in the Row by Row Experience by providing patterns for a row of a quilt.  By visiting the participating shops you can make a Row by Row quilt.  More information can be found at http://www.rowbyrowexperience.com/starthere.htm.

Sew and Tell

This month's Sew and Tell featured "One Block Wonder" quilts as well as projects by our members. It's hard to believe there can be so many variations in this process, so many pretty quilts.
