Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild Meeting October 14, 2025 Announcements Our next Sew-in October 23rd, 9am-5pm at the North Davis Senior Center, in Clearfield. Bring your machine, extension cord, lunch, and $2.00 Next month there will be a Sew-in at the Syracuse Community Center on Monday, November 10th, 10am-3pm. This will take place of our regular 2nd Tuesday Meeting. We will also be electing new officers for next year. As an incentive to attend the meeting the above quilt will be drawn for. It was partially pieced by Margo and Kathy finished piecing it. Pam will quilt it. The finished Quilt of Valor will be going to Maria's 90 year old father who served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Turn in the raw edge flower blocks by next month. December Christmas Party There will be a drawing for the flower blocks at our Christmas Party on the 2nd Tuesday in December. Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild Due to Veterans Day on November 11th our meeting was moved to Monday November 10, 2025 The meeting was held at the Syracuse Community Center. Teri showed her Scrappy Trip Around the World quilt and taught how to make the block at our Sew-in. Our Quilt Guild put together this beautiful patriotic quilt and presented it to Salvatore Anthony Battista in a Quilt of Valor presentation. He is a 27-year Veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps that served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and finished up his career maintaining the presidential helicopters for Presidents Carter, Ford and Reagan Ruth from Quilts of Valor presented the Quilt on behalf of the QOV organization. Maria, one of our guild members, is the daughter of the Quilt of Valor recipient. His family attended the presentation. Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild September 9, 2025 We had an amazing guest speaker, Nannette Holmberg, the talented creator of Chenille-It Blooming Bias Tape . She demonstrated how to apply her Chenille-It to our quilts and had a trunk show of her many beautiful quilts. She also told us about her interesting background as a clothing designer of wedding dresses. Check out her web pages.
