November 2016 Quilt Guild

Election Day 2016

Wasn't just election day for the United States, it was also election day for the Syracuse Quilt Guild. What a fun meeting.  We started out with a visit from Emily Taylor of Pattern Jam showing us all the fun products her company has to offer, along with the amazing software that allows you to design your own quilts and see them come to life in the fabrics of your choice.  Emily shared her story of building a company based on her own designs, a lot of hard work and a crazy life.
Who knew panels could be so amazing and fun.  Each of these panels can be printed in different color ways on fabric 56" wide and all you have to do is add borders, or not, quilt them and they are ready to go.

These deer heads come in three different color ways and is a very popular pattern.
Applique anyone?

So many cute designs.

Utah Quilt Guild Report

Sandra reported that this year's quilt fest was very successful, ending in the black and was a lot of fun even with a tornado and power outage.  Nancy Henderson, next year's President is asking each area representative to suggest ideas for next year's charity quilts and Sandra would like any suggestions by the December meeting.

November Activities

Olivia won the cute flying bats quilts for this month's block of the month.

Jeanette displaying her winning entry in the Mug Rug Challenge.  There were so many cute mug rugs and unfortunately I didn't get pictures of all of them..

Elections

As I mentioned earlier, the guild selected new officers for 2017.  We are happy to announce that Pam will move up from President Elect to President.  Margo graciously accepted the position of President Elect and Kim volunteered to be the Secretary/Treasurer and blogger for the guild.  Congratulations ladies, we know you will do a terrific job.
