Red and White and all things Valentine
Welcome and Happy Valentines Day
Suzanne welcomed everyone and was happy to note we had some new visitors and potential members. Welcome to Marlena Dover, Crystal Hale and our new Area Rep Marilyn Steele.
Our new Area Rep, Marilyn and Sandra told us about the fun coming up at Quilt Fest this year, including this adorable panel available for $20 that will enter you in a contest. So much fun to use this panel any way you like to create something fun for yourself.
Door prizes and birthdays are always a fun part of our meetings.

Three Fat Quarter Table Runners
Many of the members are participating in a project to create a table runner from three fat quarters swapped in paper bags. It will be a lot of fun to see what everyone does with their table runners.
Zinger Blocks
Each month three quilters will take home a bag of fabric with a "zinger orange" and black print fabric and then make a block of their choosing to create a guild quilt.

Becky's "Good Fortune" quilt top finished this year's Quiltville Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter |
Becky also had some quilt blocks finished for the Utah Quilt Guild Fisher House project. She had some military emblem fabric given to her from American Legion Post #139 for guild members to use in quilt blocks for the project. She also had some pillow case kits that members could take home and bring back.
What an adorable quilt but unfortunately I can't remember who is hiding behind this one. Love it anyway.
Mardell is hiding behind this cute block for Fisher House that Kathy Compton made |
Jennifer made this cute baby quilt from fabrics donated last month and backed it with some lovely soft minky. |
Jennifer's crazy quilt which she explained was way out of her comfort zone, thus the look on her face. |
So cool, it deserves more than one picture |
and a closeup, Lovely! |
Suzanne talked about the really fun trip she had to California including the "Road to California" quilt show and classes. Sounds wonderful and like something to put on
my bucket list. She took a class on using Paintsticks on fabric and creating your own fabric designs.
Suzanne's Paintstick block, ooh lots of gold, so pretty |
Another great meeting and looking forward to next month.
