November 2019 Elections

November was a busy month with lots of news from the Utah Quilt Guild, upcoming plans for Christmas gathering (can you believe it?) and elections for 2020

News to Use

Marilyn gave us updates on happenings in the state guild with lots happening. For more details, go to  Utah Quilt Guild
  • Next year's quilt fest will include three challenges including  a Hat Challenge (Mad Hatter's Parade); a 54 card deck challenge, and an Alice in Quilt Land quilt challenge.  
  • Membership in the state guild has lots of benefits and this year if you join or renew before March 31, 2020, you will be entered to win a Cricuit Machine.  
  • Looking for a permanent editor for the Beeline Newsletter.  If you have some computer skills and are interested, please let Marilyn know.
  • Holiday Quilt Show coming November 15 at the Little America Hotel in SLC with a $5 entrance fee.

Fun Stuff

We had a new visitor to the group, Kelli with a delightful accent coming from So. Africa.  Welcome Kelli.

Christmas Party and Meeting

Suzanne told us that the Christmas luncheon will be held at Chris' Cafe on December 10, at 1:00.  We will exchange a gift of one yard of fabric which can be a one-yard cut, four fat quarters or two halves or whatever makes up one yard. We'll wrap the gifts for a fun exchange.  Since we are meeting in a cafe, we will forgo Sew and Tell next month.

Elections

Elections were held and the following

stepped up to be officers for 2020.

  • President - Becky Thomason (conduct meetings, Plan Calendar and submit items to UQG)
  • Secretary - to be shared by Kathy Compton, Mardell Harris, Maribeth Pierce (Keep minutes, write blog/newsletter
  • Board Member Birthdays - Jeanette Sharp
  • Board Member Door Prizes - Anita Bingham

 These two have been working hard for the Dicken's Festival getting this lovely Santa cloak finished in time.  Beautiful work ladies.
