Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild Meeting

Becky Thomason called the April 13, 2021, meeting to order at 1:00 pm. 

We met at the Syracuse Community Center, the first time in over a year. Becky said we have updated by laws and she will bring copies next month.

Marilyn Steele, Area Representative from the Utah Quilt Guild updated us on Utah Quilt Guild Events. 

Spring Remote Fest 2021 is almost here, the cost is $25.00 for members. They will have access to 5 classes, starting April 30 through the month of May. There will be a Remote Quilt Show, you can just send a photo. The entry form is on the website. You will need to contact the class instructors for list of supplies.

Utah Valley Quilt Fair will be July 21st. Quilt Fest will be Sept. 14 to 18.

 November 14, 2023   President Maribeth welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced guests and new members. It was reported that the basket donated by the Syracuse Guild to the silent auction at Quiltfest brought in $150.   Amazing and thank you to Nancy who put the basket together. Door prizes were awarded and birthdays recognized.   The group voted to hold our Christmas Luncheon on December 12 at Chris’ Café in Clearfield.   More information will be shared prior to the luncheon.      State Quilt Guild Announcements:   Suzanne, our Area Representative gave an update on Quilltfest, including the fact that Quilltfest has been moved up to August 20-24 due to scheduling issues in October.   More details are available online at Utah Quilt Guild.org.   The guilds are being asked to perhaps donate luncheon table prizes for next year.   Also reminded that the Auction baskets must include only new materials.   They also need lots of volunteers to pull off a successful fest.  Syracuse Utah Quilters December 24 The Syracuse Utah Quilters gathered at Chris' Cafe in Clearfield for our annual Christmas lunch and get together.  It was a great time with good food, good friends and fun gifts for all.  A drawing was held for the guild quilt made earlier this year and the lucky winner was Lorraine. June 14th Quilt Guild Meeting

Janet showed her fall tree quilt made with yoyos. Janet also showed her red and white hexagon flowers that she has been working on. Barbara shared her amazing row quilt. Nancy finished her Christmas quilt and updated us on herself and Margo's health challenges. Pam made this fun quilt that she donated to Jennifer's charity project.
