 Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild Meeting

Becky Thomason called the June 8, 2021, meeting to order at 1:00 pm. 

Anita Bingham held the drawing for Fat Quarters.

Marilyn Steele, Representative from Utah Quilt Guild gave her report.

Quilt Fest will be held September 14th - 18th, 2021. Additional information is located at UtahQuiltGuild.org.

Quilt Fest is looking for donations for door prizes. They would like Art Show Baskets for Center Pieces. The theme is “Discover the Artist Within.” Orphan Blocks are also welcome as well. Volunteers are needed for judges in judging room. The Beehive Bulletin would like photos of our quilts.

Springville Art Museum Art Show is coming up (info is available in the Beehive Bulletin.)

You can look at the virtual quilt show on UtahQuiltGuild.org. You don’t have to be a member.

Kathy Compton asked that we continue to make comfort lap quilts or wheelchair quilts to give to nursing homes at Christmas. Last year we gave 22 to Sunridge Assisted Living in Layton.

Strip Party:

Marlena suggested that we hold a “Strip Party” in June. Everyone brought 40  2-1/2 inch strips. She suggested several different types of blocks that can be created using strips.
