Sew and Tell
Those who finished their Painted Barn Blocks showed them to the rest of us.
Pam showed
three baby quilts she made for when she had a granddaughter. She finally has a granddaughter coming soon.
The cute Lamb quilt is made from a pattern by Deonn Stott. Pam also showed her quilt she made at the Sophomore class and K&H quilt shop.
Jennifer
showed her English Paper Piecing that she is working on
and her red blue and white quilt.
She is also learning how to do Needle Turn Applique on a Hawaiian quilt.
Guest Mary Ann showed some scrappy quilts made using only squares and triangles. One is for her 7 month old great-grandson.
Laurie has been trying to use up her fabric making string quilted hot pads for family and friends.
Teri has been making fun crumb scrap quilt squares.
Kathy finished her longest lasting UFO she started about 5
years ago. It is a Quilt-in-a- Day quilt
pattern by Eleanor Burns. Because it was
already bound she decided to tie it instead of quilting it.
Paula told about her mother’s quilting and a saying she had “Our
Hearts are Stitched Together with Love.”
Susan shared that the quilt shop, Handmade is Heartmade, in Tremonton has moved to a nice new larger place. She also said that many of our children and grandchildren don’t necessarily like the large bed quilts as much as the smaller throws and picnic quilts.
Margo took an old quilt that was wearing around the edges and cut it down to smaller sized quilts and donated them to our comfort quilts.
She also gifted quilts to her neighbors who have kept her driveway and sidewalks shoveled of the snow this year. She told one neighbor who received a baby quilt that it was not for the wall but to be used.
Becky showed her interesting circles string quilt started at
Quilt Fest. She says that she used lightweight
fusible interfacing on the circles and turned them to fuse them down.
Nancy showed us her lovely heart runner. She shared with us her journey to make the Kimberbell quilt “We Wisk You A Merry Christmas” for her daughter who is a baker. It has machine embroidery on it. She says it is the most expensive quilt she has ever made.
She also offered to share her quilt puzzle that is making the rounds in our quilt guild.
The meeting ended with the quilters going to the Give Away Table and picking up Quilt Soup Jars.
