Guild Meeting May 14, 2024
1:00 pm at the Syracuse Community Center
There were 23 in attendance this month. We missed you if you weren't there.
Lori was welcomed as a new member.
Our Area Representative, Suzanne, announced that the
Rusty Barn Quilt Show
will be May 16th - 18th at the Mountain America Expo Center
Tickets are $12 at the door. Ruthie Davis is the featured artist.
Quilts of Valor Sew Day
will be June 1st, at the Roy Library, from 2:00 - 5:30pm
Fabric will be provided.
Volunteers are needed to Cut, Press and Sew.
Bring supplies for what job you want to do.

Utah Quilt Guild Quilt Fest
is August 20th - 24th
Registration is open with discounts for those who are members
of the Utah Quilt Guild. Volunteers are needed.
There will be a quilt show, classes, meals, and speakers.
For just the Quilt Show it is $5 at the door.
UQG is looking for a Vice President & Treasurer to serve on the Board.
We were reminded by our President, Maribeth to turn in our Lap/Comfort Quits.
Pam has batting that the guild bought to use for these quilts.
Next month will be our Birthday party.
Kathy shared with us how to print photos and add them to a quilt.
She makes a quilt for each of her graduating grandchildren.
She adds the pictures after the quilt is quilted.
Anita has been busy making these two warm colored quilts for some lucky people.
Our new member, Lily, showed some of her quilts including a floral
quilt that she put together after the hand appliqued blocks were given to her.
She made the reversable quilt for her son who was in the Navy and the paper pieced elephant for her other son who became a Nuclear Engineer.

Marlena finished this beautiful Kim Diehl quilt that has a Sawtooth Star
inside a Churn Dash block. Jennifer quilted it for her.
Larraine showed her Pineapple Block quilt that she made and hangs
with the cute wooden hanger. She also made this Comfort/Lap quilt in masculine
colors to donate. Pam quilted it for her.
Nancy is looking for a new home for this Quilt of Valor quilt she was given as
a retired military person. She doesn't think her husband or daughter will know
what to do with it after she is gone.
Nancy also has hankies for anyone who would like them.
She made this fun Comfort Quilt to donate.
Janet showed us her three books called The Quiltmaker's Gift,
The Quiltmaker's Journey, and Quilts from the Quiltmaker's Gift.
She stood in line for two hours to get the signatures from
the author and the artist of these beautiful books.
While Jennifer was laid up with a broken foot she made these amazing
English Paper Pieced (EPP) quilts.
Jennifer and a friend make a cancer quilt every month to donate to cancer patients.
Maribeth put together this memory t-shirt quilt for her granddaughter
who is graduating from High School.
