Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild Meeting

This month we celebrated Valentine's Day a little early.  
Our Guild President, Pam, brought treats and decorated the room.  
We were asked to bring our Valentine's quilts to display.
35 women were in attendance 


Announcements
Next Wednesday, Feb. 19th is our Sew-In from 10am - 3pm.
at the Syracuse community Center

We were reminded to wear our Name Tags as we have a number
of new quilters in our guild.
Lori offered to make some name tags for those who need them. 

Our Guild Dues are $15 for the year to be paid to Becky.
Utah Quilt Guild Dues are $20.  Pay online before March 31st.

Next Month is National Quilt Day. Bring a free pattern printed out
to exchange with other quilters in the guild.
Also bring St. Patrick's quilts to show.

We had four winners for the fat quarter drawing.

Those who have birthdays this month could choose between 
tissue holders and microwave bowl holders.

Nancy had another drawing for a St. Patrick's Day quilt Kit.
It was won by Angy.

Pam is taking orders at a 50% discount for Superior Thread 
using her wholesale business account.  
**Contact her by the end of this week.**

Lori Whitlock will be bringing some of her fabric that she has
designed next month.  It will be around $8 a yard.  What a deal!

Our Area Representative, Suzanne, from the Utah Quilt Guild

Sew and Tell

Pam showed her cute Heart Pillow

Kathy brought her Christmas quilt with cute buttons sewn on the tree.

Becky showed this amazing quilt that she quilted on a sit down longarm.

Becky made the small quilt on the right this year for Valentine's Day.


  
Jan had three Valentine's Holiday quilts she shared.

Anita shared her quilt made for the month of February.  
She hangs it using Velcro.

Suzanne's fish quilt was painted and appliqued.  She used black thread to outline it.

Marlena paper pieced her heart quilt.

Nancy's quilt hangs on her Kitchen wall in February.
She made this pretty heart by wrapping large yarn around a wire frame.


Such pretty Valentine's Quilts.

Lori showed two of her small heart quilts.

Ruth modeled her heart jacket and showed a couple of small quilts she made.


Now Teri is retired she is using up her flannel to make quilts for grandchildren.

This beautiful quilt is Amy's 1st quilt.

Amy won Nancy's quilt kit last and finished it to show us.

Demos

Angie showed us how to make this Jelly Roll Rug


Kathy showed us her method of making a square in a square quilt.

Maribeth taught us how to use wooden clappers when pressing seams.
