Syracuse Utah Quilt Guild

May 12, 2026

This month was our birthday celebration of the beginning of
the Syracuse Quilt Guild.
We played Quilt Bingo with prizes brought from guild members
and ate cake.

The Theme for this month was Summer Quilts.

Thanks to those who brought quilts to display there and to Debbie
who will be delivering them.

Lori passed out cute pin cushions to those who
had Birthdays this month.

Next Month's Block of the Month is Red.

The quilt top for the Syracuse Museum is finished and Pam is quilting it.

Angy, our Gadget Girl, told us about some gadgets she uses including a
tool holder,  Lux Loom book stand to hold patterns, a light board
for 9.99 at Amazon, and a sewing machine mat that Ami made for her.

Suzanne made this summer wall quilt along with others in the Guild
many years ago. It has kites, fireworks, a sun, a pioneer wagon,
4th of July, flip flops, etc.
She used a bleach spray to alter some of the fabrics.

This complicated looking quilt was made after attending the Houston
Quilt Show.  It uses 2 1/2" strips.

Kathy C went on a Cruise to Mexico and Honduras
and worked on this beautiful  blue quilt.

Kathy J will be displaying  these amazing quilts at the Rusty Barn Quilt Show
including the "Flower Thru the Lattice" quilt
and the "Bird on a Wire" applique quilt.

Kathy J also showed her quilt made from a Jenny Beyer pattern.

Marlena made this sweet quilt that has embroidery blocks included.
She showed an early quilt she made in 1987 called "Celestial Melody."
Her son said it looked like "peas and carrots."
Jennifer quilted it with a peas and carrot design.

Laura shared her cute strawberry quilt.

Ruth's daughter made this beautiful quilt for Ruth for Mother's Day.

Ruth's red and black quilt is called "To Albania with Love."
It has photos from when she was on a mission there.
The "Double Wedding Ring" quilt was made for her parents 50th
wedding anniversary.  It has something in the center of each circle
that relates to them.

Jeanette brought a couple of her oldies quilts that she hangs up at this time each year.
One is a watercolor quilt and the other a hand quilted butterfly panel quilt.

Ami showed her pretty summer time quilt and a darling Raggedy Ann
doll that she made.

Bingo

So many prizes.

Jeanette and JB both won the Bingo Blackout prize from Sew and Save.

Happy Quilting!
